An awareness workshop on “strengthening journalists’ capabilities in dealing with environmental issues

The Higher Council for Environment and Natural Resources will convene an awareness workshop on “strengthening journalists’ capabilities in dealing with environmental issues” at Teeba Press on Monday, the 25^th of January 2021. The activity comes as part of executing the project titled “Strengthening Targeted National Capacities for Improved Decision Making and Mainstreaming of Global Environmental Obligations” executed by HCENR and co-sponsored by Government of Sudan, GEF and UNDP.

The workshop aims at providing the journalists with the environmental information on the environmental issues, particularly climate change, biodiversity and desertification and the international conventions on these issues and Sudan obligations towards these conventions. The workshop also includes a presentation on “Environmental Issues in the Media” which will show how these issues can be published in newspapers and other media.
