Building resilience to climate change in the agricultural and pastora

l sector project, which is implemented by the Higher Council for the Environment and Natural Resources in cooperation with the United Nations Development Program, held its founding meeting this morning 20-21March at the Al Salam Rotana Hotel in the presence of members of the technical committee from the relevant authorities and project managers

in the target states.

When addressing the meeting, the Secretary-General of the Higher council foe the environment emphasized on the importance of the project in the field of environment in general and climate change in particular due to the wide geographical scope of the project and the varied natural and social challenges and conditions in the states. He stressed on the necessity of public and community participation and state institutions in the project activities, especially groups of women and youth noting the importance of caring for the marine environment to confront environmental changes and reduce the risks and threats facing marine life, calling for increasing environmental awareness and exploiting all available media opportunities.
