The Secretary-General of the Environment Affirms the urgent need to find solutions to environmental problems in the White Nile State

The Secretary General of the Higher  Council for Environment and Natural Resources, Dr. Mona Ali Mohamed Ahmed, was briefed on her meeting today with the Director General and Minister in charge of the Ministry of Infrastructure and Urban Development in the White Nile State, Eng. Maher Mohamed Hamad, on the most prominent environmental problems affecting the State

She stressed the need to confront the irresponsible activities and non compliance with environmental requirements.  She assured the importance of having state council for the environment and activating its role in preserving the environment and its various components.

For his part, the Minister in charge of the Ministry of Infrastructure explained that the meeting dealt with the environmental challenges in the state as consequence of environmental pollution with pesticides and cement factories, waste water from sewage and industrial wastewater from sugar factories. He is relying on the role of the Higher Council for the Environment in the state in coordinating and unifying visions towards the environment sector and organizing policies and plans in addressing environmental problems
